The annual conference of the Canon Law Society of India will be on Matrimonial Procedural Law, and it will be held at Dharmaram, Bangalore. Archbishop Bernard Moras of Bangalore will inaugurate the conference at 4 p.m. on Monday, 22 October. Prof. Dr. Augustine Mendonca, an eminent Canonist from St. Paul University, Ottawa, Canada, will give the keynote address. The Conference will have papers from other renowned scholars from India and abroad. The Conference will conclude by noon on Friday, October 26, 2012.
“With the growing number of marriage breakdown, for the Church it has become a major pastoral concern to help the couples and families. The Conference this year will be of great assistance for those who are working in the ecclesiastical tribunals and in family welfare programmes”, said Father Alex Vadakumthala, the President of the Canon Law Society of India.

The Canon Law Society of India was started twenty six years back, and it had its silver jubilee conference last year in Mumbai.
